Let me cut to the
chase. I began preparing individual income taxes in 1989 focusing
primarily on Law Enforcement personnel.
I have earned the Certified Tax Specialist designation from the
Institute
of
Business
and Finance. This designation is conferred
after fulfilling all requirements of education, experience, licensing,
character and commitment to continued professional education. I am also
a member of The National Association of Tax Professionals.
In 1993 I applied to and was accepted into the training program at
American Express Financial Advisors. After obtaining my securities and insurance
licenses, I turned down their generous offer to retire early and join
them full time as I really enjoyed working for the NYPD and was
halfway to a pension. I continued to rise through the ranks ultimately
retiring as a Captain of Detectives in 2004.
During the second half of my police career, I built a tax and financial
services practice, focusing on my natural market as cops are who I am
most comfortable with and whose financial situations I am most familiar
with. I have helped hundreds of police, of all ranks, prepare for and
ultimately retire having made wise choices about their finances.
The firm I have built
is independent and has no proprietary products. This allows us to offer
impartial advice and recommendations. I offer life insurance products
from over 70 companies allowing me to tailor each individual’s policy
to their own specific circumstances and concerns. You can not get a
better price on insurance, not even online and I promise not to harass
you. I have the experience
to steer you toward the right company based on your own personal
circumstances (some companies look more favorably on, or more
accurately, penalize you less, if you smoke or have high blood pressure
or cholesterol, or other medical conditions). I also am affiliated with
all major mutual fund and variable annuity companies doing business in
NY, again allowing me to tailor a portfolio to an individual’s needs
and concerns focusing solely on the well being of my clients. (Securities

I cannot do everything
so, where appropriate; I have cultivated relationships with other
professionals who offer services that I simply do not have the time or
expertise to offer.

After watching many
people fall for “Free everything & No cost” pitches from some
unsavory mortgage brokers, I have brought on board a mortgage broker who
is a retired Lieutenant I know and trust.
He is available in the office or at your home.
I also have on board an
Aflac expert. Unfortunately, too many first responders are finding they
need cancer insurance after it is too late. This is a very affordable
protection that I believe anyone who spent any significant time on the
pile or at the landfill should seriously consider.
Aflac also has an excellent dental plan that supplements the paltry
dental coverage offered to retirees by most of the unions.

In addition to being a
member of the
Hudson
valley 10-13, I also belong to the NY
10-13, NYS FOP Lodge 188 and the Rockland County Shields. I try to help
sponsor outings and newsletters for these organizations when possible
because they are looking out for us.
